Resources We Love
We only list things we have tried and found useful, if you want us to try something let us know.
>>> Please note that not all of these resources will be a good fit for everyone. Use personal discretion and guidance from those providing care with you. None of these items are intended to diagnose nor cure. <<<
We may use an affiliate link and may make a commission for purchases you make through links on this website. Not all links are affiliate links. We link to the creator’s website when possible to support each creator.
We encourage you - when possible - to purchase from local sellers, to support local and small business. We all have different access and we support you in accessing what you need in the ways you can.
Bookshop.org can help you find local bookstores to purchase from.
Libby is an app that can help you borrow ebooks and audiobooks from your local library.
Libro.fm is a membership option for audiobooks.
We sometimes reference and write reviews for products we like at the blog, check it out for more detailed information on some of these items and subscribe to get posts as they happen.
Many resources for parents and parenting are great for all of us as we parent and re-parent our neurodivergent selves as adults, they are not just for those with children.
Self-assessments can be a useful and informative piece of information. Professional assessment can be hard to access for some folks, and all assessments need to be interpreted and so there is room for error with any assessment device as well as how they are interpreted and what is being looked at. Please use these assessments provided below as a means to better understand yourself and how you experience the world. There can be overlap, discrepancy on terms, and many different experiences and ideas. This is a starting place from which to gather more information.
As for personality and individual identity assessments (we did include a few below), we have found that they are often more confusing than helpful if you are masking and very self disoriented related to sensory sensitivity and your sense of self. Sometimes it is helpful to do more sensory sensitive work to ground and center in your self before doing personality assessments or trying to find resonant or useful information from them. Once you are more centered, they can sometimes be another useful piece of information.
If you are having suicidal urges, think you may harm yourself or someone else, please contact the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline by dialing 988 or the Crisis Text Line by texting the word “HOME” to number 741741.
The Trevor Project provides LGBTQ+ youth specific suicide and crisis support.

If you determine you might be experiencing some aspect of sensory processing sensitivity and neurodivergence and you want more support beyond self-guided education, care and resources listed here, please check out our services or seek out a therapist who specializes in providing care for the areas you want support in. Not all therapists or care providers understand neurodivergent needs and it is important to make sure your providers are qualified to support your needs. Meeting with providers who do not understand your neurodivergence can cause harm. Psychology Today’s Therapist Finder is a commonly used resource to find searchable local therapists based on specialty and other qualities you may be looking for.
